Major Recruitment are seeking an experienced Estimator to join a reputable, well established, close-knit team based in Nottingham. You’ll be responsible for producing accurate cost estimates and supporting sales and production teams to deliver competitive, profitable quotes.

Key Responsibilities

• Review technical drawings and customer specifications

• Prepare cost estimates (materials, labour, tooling, overheads)

• Liaise with engineering, production, and procurement teams

• Source and assess supplier/subcontractor quotes

• Support quotations, tenders, and bids

• Identify cost-saving opportunities and risks

• Maintain pricing data and cost models

• Track estimated vs. actual costs to improve accuracy

• Contribute to continuous improvement and value engineering

Requirements

• Experience in estimating within manufacturing/engineering

• Strong understanding of fabrication, machining, or assembly processes

• Ability to read technical drawings and BOMs

• Strong Excel and analytical skills

• High attention to detail and accuracy

• Good communication and teamwork skills

Desirable

• ERP/MRP system experience

• Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles

INDAS
